Welcome to Your Telehealth Consultation!
We’re here to provide quick and convenient care. Here’s what we can offer through a teleconsultation:
What Teleconsultation Can Address:
- Respiratory Infections: If you have symptoms of pharyngitis, tonsillitis (a photo of your throat is required), bronchitis, or sinusitis, a teleconsultation can help with diagnosis and provide medication if necessary.
- Eye Infections: For conditions like conjunctivitis, styes, or chalazions, simply send a photo of the affected eye, and we’ll advise on treatment.
- Urinary Tract Infections (UTI): We offer consultations for women and teens (10 years and older) to diagnose and treat UTIs.
- Skin Conditions: For issues like eczema, acne, ingrown nails, or infected wounds, send us a photo, and we’ll suggest suitable care.
- Vaginal Health Issues: We can assist with conditions like vaginitis, bacterial vaginosis, and genital herpes.
- Men’s Health: Men can get support for erectile dysfunction, regardless of age.
- Prescription Renewals: You can renew non-controlled medications (e.g., for thyroid or blood pressure) for up to 3 months while awaiting your next in-person visit.
- Absence Notes for Work/School: Need a note to justify an absence? We’re here to help.
- Specialist Referrals: If you need specialized care, we can provide a referral.
- Pregnancy Preventive Withdrawal Requests: We can guide you through requesting preventive withdrawal.
When Teleconsultation Is Not Appropriate:
- Urgent Conditions: If your situation is serious or potentially life-threatening, go to the emergency room. Urgent conditions can include severe chest pain, breathing difficulties, heavy bleeding, serious trauma, or sudden loss of consciousness. This list isn’t exhaustive, so if you feel your situation is critical, visit the ER.
- Serious Mental Health Issues: If you have suicidal thoughts or are experiencing a severe mental health crisis, seek immediate emergency care.
- Acute Abdominal/Pelvic Pain: You may need to be seen in person, but we can help with absence notes or begin stool culture tests if necessary.
Medications We Cannot Prescribe via Teleconsultation:
Due to regulations, we cannot prescribe or renew the following medications via teleconsultation:
- Controlled Medications: Benzodiazepines (e.g., Ativan), narcotics (e.g., morphine), ADHD medications (e.g., Vyvanse), and medical cannabis (THC, CBD) require an in-person visit, even if you have been taking them for years.
Note: This list is not exhaustive; other medications may also require an in-person visit based on specific regulations and medical guidelines.
Not Sure? Consult a Nurse
If you’re unsure whether teleconsultation or in-person care is the best option, connect with a nurse via Doctr for quick guidance. We’re here to help you get the appropriate care.
